Creating a final character for game prototypes can be time-consuming, so we often use placeholders to get the proportions right. This model depicts an ape character designed for a game prototype, showcasing the level of detail (LoD) required to work efficiently in a game engine.
Details:
Basemesh Creation: The initial basemesh was quickly generated in ZBrush using the ZBuilder plugin (exact version not recalled).
Refinement: Further refinements were made in ZBrush and Blender to enhance the model’s details.
Level of Detail (LoD): The model includes a LoD file to ensure it performs well in the game engine without compromising visual quality.
This approach allows us to iterate quickly and focus on gameplay mechanics while still having a visually representative character in the prototype stage.
The Game Design prototype is just an example of a project made under a game Design Course.
